Along with perhaps Genesis and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes is probably the most famous, successful, and influential Progressive Rock bands in history. But unlike the aforementioned bands, Yes stayed together in one form or another for a long time and never strayed too horribly far from the style that made it famous. Granted, some of the albums through the years have left me disappointed due to some stylistic changes (the modernization of its sound on 90210 and Big Generator, for instance), but never to the point where I would stop purchasing each subsequent release. Nevertheless, for true fans of Progressive Rock, every single Yes release from The Yes Album through Relayer is an essential item to have in one’s music collection. ESSENTIAL! (As a quick aside, the most recent feuding between past group members, fighting over which version of the band has legal rights to use the name, etc., has turned me off so thoroughly that I lost interest in any versions of the group and wish they would all just go away.)
